GUN CLUB MEMBERSHIPS & ACTIVITIES
Adelaide indoors Firearms Association Inc (AIFA)
Marksman owns and operates its own recognised firearms club known as AIFA. The club was established in 1994 and operates from our premises at 163 Franklin St, Adelaide, South Australia. It is accredited for handgun, rifle and shotgun shooting competitions.

Membership
To
become a member of one of SAs fastest growing clubs, you must apply for your H1 (Club Pistol
Licence) at your local police station and be over 18 years of age.
Upon receipt of your application police will conduct an offender
record check and decide if you are entitle to obtain a licence.
They will inform you by letter of your suitability. Once getting
approval by police, a copy of the letter is lodged with the club
to support your application for membership.
Persons
between the age of 14 and 17 cannot apply for their licence or own
a pistol, however they can become an associate member of the club
provided that they have the written consent of a parent or guardian.
This type of membership entitles them to use club firearms and ammunition
whilst at the club, and to participate in club activities.
A
12 month probationary period applies to all new members, Continued
membership is at the discretion of the club committee.
Our Associations Aims
- To promote safe and responsible firearms use amongst our members.
- To promote competition shooting amongst our members and other
gun clubs.
- To provide excellent training & training facilities for our
members.
- To promote liaison & goodwill between our members, other members
of the firearms community and the general public.
- To promote the views and concerns of our members to the government
& government agencies in relation to firearms legislation &
policy within SA.
The Club and Range Facilities
The club has a 10 lane, 20 metre range equipped with an automatic
target system. Low light conditions can be simulated using banks
of coloured lights which can be dimmed down to zero light conditions-
ideal for various competition, law enforcement and security practice.
Firearms and ammunition can be hired from the club for use on the
range. Persons wishing to use their own firearms are welcome, provided
that they are licensed and that they comply with range safety and
usage rules. Competitions are held approximately twice weekly.
Types of Firearms
The range caters for all common varieties of hand-guns and ammunition.
Pistol calibre and .22 cal rifles and shotguns can be used on the
range. The club has .22 , .38 spec, .357 & .44.magnum revolvers
for hire as well as 9mm, .40cal, .45 cal & 10mm semi-auto pistols
for hire by members & their guests. Both factory & reloaded ammunition
can be used in club firearms. Non- club loaded reloads are not permitted
to be fired through club guns. NOTE: Restrictions apply on calibres over .38 Calibres.
